Electrology (Electro-epilation) is the art and science of permanent hair removal.  Electrolysis has been around for over 150 years and it’s still the only recognized and FDA approved method of 100% permanent hair removal.  With electrolysis, unwanted hair can be removed safely and permanently from just about anywhere on the body.*  It’s the permanent choice for anyone who wants to look great effortlessly, everyday.

A fine, sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle---which is an existing opening in the skin very much like a tiny pocket---and a small amount of electrical energy is used to destroy the hair growth tissue (the blood supply and germinative cells) within that follicle.  When this is accomplished, the ability of the follicle to regenerate a new hair is permanently eliminated.

There are 3 methods, or modalities, used in electrolysis:

Electrolysis - this is also referred to as the Galvanic method and it utilizes Direct Current (DC) to achieve chemical destruction of the hair growth tissue within the hair follicle.

Thermolysis - this method uses Alternating Current (AC), sometimes referred to as High Frequency or Short-Wave, which creates heat to destroy the hair growth tissue within the hair follicle.

The Blend - this method is also referred to as Dual Modality because both Galvanic and Thermolysis are used simultaneously or sequentially to achieve dual destruction of the hair growth tissue within the hair follicle.

Great results can be achieved with any modality as long as you have an operator who is skilled.  Therefore, the modality is often chosen based on your comfort level.

Electrolysis is permanent, but because of the hair growth cycles it takes a series of treatments over time to achieve permanent results.  How long it takes varies with each person and depends on several factors including: the size of the area being treated, hereditary growth patterns, previous temporary hair removal methods used, individual sensitivity level, rate of healing, consistency of appointments and how well treatment instructions are followed.

Adieu LLC is a certified Apilus® Centre offering only state-of-the-art Apilus® technology.  Apilus® delivers a more effective yet gentler electrolysis treatment, as well as faster permanent results than any other hair removal technique.  Taking advantage of its micro precision of one thousandth of a second, the new MicroFlash® Proportional Pulsing function safely balances energy settings, timed pulses and multiple modalities allowing the highest level of comfort while maximizing effectiveness.
